Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an effective, natural and increasingly popular form of health care that consists of the insertion of fine, sterilised, disposable needles into a few carefully selected points on the body .
The intent of acupuncture is to stimulate the body, release energy blocks, and re-establish normal equilibrium, thereby helping the body to heal itself naturally. It's used to treat a wide range of common ailments, relieve pain and promote general health.
The number of needles used varies depending on the condition, and they are left in place for an average of twenty minutes. Treatment using acupuncture might also include moxibustion, cupping and electro-acupuncture.
The World Health Organization (WHO) recognises over 30 conditions that have been scientifically verified to respond well to treatment including: asthma, acne, back pain, depression, eczema, hypertension, IBS, infertility, insomnia, menstrual problems, migraine, psoriasis, sinusitis and stress.
