Mark Leopold BSc (Hons) MBAcC MRCHM
Mark trained for 5 years in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) at the University of Westminster, graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Acupuncture and a Certificate in Chinese Herbal Medicine.
This was followed by an internship at the City Hospital, Hangzhou in China studying with the Zhejiang College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, working in an out-patients clinic specialising in pain relief and the treatment of stroke sufferers.
Mark became interested in Chinese medicine through having acupuncture for a sports injury which also had a positive effect on his digestive system which had always been a weak spot. Before this he had a successful career in the construction industry but his interest in Chinese medicine grew and led to him retrain over 10 years ago. His science-based background has given him a very practical, hands-on approach to TCM.
He is a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) which is the UK's main regulatory body for the practice of acupuncture. The BAcC maintains standards of education, ethics, practice and discipline to ensure the health and safety of the public at all times.
Mark is also a member of the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine (RCHM), which was set up in 1987 to regulate the practice of Chinese Herbal Medicine in the UK. It now represents over 400 fully qualified practitioners of Chinese herbal medicine. Like the BAcC, the RCHM sets high standards of entry in terms of training and has a strict code of conduct and ethics.
